Automation, digital technologies, robotics, mechatronics and vocational training were the salient themes of the successful displays and presentations put on by the 850-plus exhibitors operating out of the six pavilions of SPS Italia 2019. The fair, which took place in pavilions 4, 4.1 and 7 and in District 4.0 at Fiere di Parma (Italy), was dedicated to the question of how manufacturing skills and expertise can be productively combined and integrated with advanced manufacturing technology. Trade fair visitors were enthralled to see how robots can contribute to the manufacturing process, how industrial machines can be linked to work together and, generally, how digital technologies can enhance output and efficiency.

The trade fair won plaudits for its straightforward and thoughtful approach to complex themes, which were addressed by leading technology suppliers and experts, and were explored, with input from top academies and training institutes, in the course of discussions about the role of industrial expertise in the factories of tomorrow.

“Once again, the latest SPS Italia has seen significant growth in the number of visitors”, stated Fabrizio Scovenna, Chairman of Anie Automazione. “We have been enjoying years of positive market expansion and now stand on the cusp of a wave of digital transformation. Investment and innovation are the main drivers of SPS Italia’s success, which has also been achieved through the professionalism of the organizers and the ability of all contributors, whether exhibitors, trade associations or universities, to capture the imagination of visitors with fascinating content. We at Anie Automazione are delighted with this latest edition, whose themes we shall continue to explore at forthcoming events, including the forum dedicated to “Vision systems, Remote control, Mechatronics and Industrial Software”.

“We are thrilled with the excellent results of this fair dedicated to the future and innovation, and to whose stands visitors flocked in large numbers from the very first day of opening. The visitor numbers are a boon for our exhibitors, whose innovative solutions and interactive demos of technology, on display here for the first time anywhere in the world, have done so much to make this ninth edition of the fair so captivating, and have laid the groundwork for its continuing expansion”, declared Donald Wich, CEO of Messe Frankfurt Italia.
