From February 20 to April 30, Omso is opening the doors of its Reggio Emilia facility in order to exhibit a Wet-On-Dry version of its flexographic printing machine Servocup, and to demonstrate the capabilities of the machine in terms of reliability, speed of format change, production and quality. Visitors will also be offered customised demonstrations, with the possibility of choosing among the various items that can currently be printed using Servocup technology.

Omso was recognised, at the Milacron Global Flexo Innovation Awards 2019, for its top-quality flexographic printing of objects. Its innovative Wet-On-Dry technology, which the company unveiled at K 2019, overcomes the limits of Wet-On-Wet printing, making it possible to decorate truncated-cone-shaped plastic containers with very high-precision application of the different colours, each of which is dried before the next is applied.

This approach makes it possible to obtain, directly, photographic quality printing of containers, and it also makes labels redundant. This has a series of a benefits: an approximately 30% reduction of production costs; elimination of an intermediate component (i.e. the label) from the processing chain, and thus of the need for its disposal; and much more flexible and more controllable process management. Servocup Wet-On-Dry is a highly flexible machine that adapts easily to a whole series of containers, ranging from small-diameter ones to high-diameter containers for food products, but also paints, sealants, insulating materials, and so on.
