Pirelli Tyre (www.pirelli.com) has signed an agreement with Genan (Vibor, Denmark) one of the largest recycler of scrap tyres, worldwide. Such cooperation will lead to the development of new technology able to produce "new rubber" from depolymerized end-of-life tyres.
Pirelli Tyre managing director, Francesco Gori, stated: "natural rubber is a limited resource and its consumption has been multiplied by ten if compared with 5 or 6 years ago".
Genan has 3 three large plants in Germany with a capacity to recycle 30% of all German scrap tyres and one plant in Denmark that processes 90% of all Danish scrap tyres.
