The TH-M6 control unit developed by Thermoplay can control up to 252 temperature zones, performing continuous check on power absorption of each zone allowing fast intervention in case of plastics leakage from an nozzle. The control unit recognizes and signals: anomalies in the thermocouple; fuse and heater interruption; solid state relay faults; phase power supply interruption. Each zone can be linked to another with similar thermal behaviour (operator's choice) if a thermocouple is interrupted. The function of following the same temperature increase eliminates temperature differences between the zones caused by different characteristics of individual heaters at start-up, thereby eliminating the need for delayed start-up of the nozzle zones.
The synoptic environment allows the operator to view the temperature in each control zone and detect malfunctions immediately. The software monitors thermoregulation instruments and implements changes to temperature regulation parameters and alarms for all or each zones. It also saves work data, and the history can be selected and exported at a later date. The "Recipe" function saves and recalls setting speeds, data and alarms based on the production lot in various operating conditions, with no limits on the number of recipes that can be saved.
The TH-M6 control unit has a 15-inch touch screen display and USD interface in a sturdy cast aluminium structure. By means of the WLAN remote connection, it is possible to perform online technical assistance, view and set the process parameters, automatic test of connections and injection system heaters.  The new cards with reduced overall dimensions for heating the nozzles create the option of modular expansion of the control unit in multiples of six. In the event of malfunction, maintenance is straightforward and inexpensive.
