On October 22 Ingersoll Rand, a recognised manufacturer of cutting-edge compression blow moulding equipment for PET bottles, introduced the new RS30 and RS37 models, belonging to the brand-new R range of oil-sealed screw air compressors, at its Vignate headquarters. These new systems stand out, first of all, for their improved reliability, making it possible to reduce maintenance operations and life-cycle costs, thus improving efficiency up to 13%. These first-class performance, combined with high reliability, ensure lower operating costs, to the benefit of those who need to rely on a generic air compressors to support applications in the assembly, manufacturing, transport and extractive sectors.

The performance of the new compressors has been improved thanks to a state-of-the-art air-end, the core component of the machines. Its innovative design has been developed through advanced analyses and modelling, and its features include an optimised profile rotor, making it possible to improve energy efficiency by up to 13% compared to the previous models. The air flow system as well as the piping, which has been redesigned completely on the basis of analytical data, help improve efficiency and ensure minimum pressure drops. This not only cuts energy bills, but also contributes to creating a safer and more comfortable work environment thanks to limited noise emissions.

The new rotor profile also ensures best-in-class air flow rate, since it increases the conveyable air flow by 11% compared to the previous models. The higher air flow rate enhances the air supply reliability, cutting downtimes and improving productivity also under extreme operating conditions. In addition, the new bearings configuration and the sealed drive system further optimise performance and reliability, reducing the need for maintenance.

The air compressors belonging to the R series are sturdy and withstand the harshest conditions thanks to the innovative design of the motor, optimised for rugged environments, and to the options for operating at high or low ambient temperatures: all these features ensure a quick return on investments.

The R range is equipped with state-of-the-art Xe control units, making it possible to access and manage the air compression system in an easy and immediate way, through a simple web browser. The users can receive information about the compressor’s performance and operation by e-mail, adjust settings remotely and program them according to specific events, thanks to the incorporated real-time clock. Moreover, the compressors can be turned on or off automatically, at each work shift or for preventive maintenance interventions.

The new range of air compressors ensures an improved reliability, thanks to the Progressive Adaptive Control (PAC) software, constantly monitoring the basic performance parameters and automatically regulating the machine’s settings according to the operating needs. The PAC control units offer an integrated analysis of the performance for a wide range of loading requirements, thus reducing the possible risks related to downtimes.
