The recent merger of two of the world's largest producers of machinery for the production of brushes and brooms - the Italian company Borghi, headquartered in Castelfranco Emilia and the Belgian company Boucherie, based in Izegem - has produced the Boucherie-Borghi Group. Both partners are well positioned on international markets and the new group plans to jointly develop increasingly innovative and high performing technology, leveraging the 150 years of total experience between the two companies.
"This merger is actually not the outcome of major strategic studies prepared by some consulting firm but rather the result of some thinking by two colleagues. This thinking led to the conclusion that an intelligent combination of our forces would generate enormous potentials for both, for our employees and, naturally, for our clients," stated Enzo Ferrari, president of Borghi.
Boucherie president, Bart Boucherie added, "This is not a complex merger. It is actually very simple: the basic principle is equality of the partners. Both the Belgian and the Italian units of our group hold the same shares. The legal structure of the group was one of the least challenging elements of our agreement. We spent most of our time talking about machines and mainly about the new developments for the future of our companies."
Borghi is recognized globally for the quality and innovativeness of its technology for household, technical and industrial brushes. With its strong presence around the world and especially in the most highly developed markets, with exclusive agents and its own satellite companies, it offers fast and efficient service on the global level. It builds machines to produce strip brushes, twisted-in-wire brushes and mops as well as trimming, flagging and finishing machines to ensure fine quality of the finished product.
Boucherie is one of the world's most important manufacturers of automatic systems for producing brushes, particularly toothbrushes and personal hygiene brushes. The highly innovative solutions are the fruit of its experience in producing high speed, high precision machines. It also designs, develops and builds complex single and multi-component injection moulds.
