At the end of 2017, Macchi installed its sixth five layer coextrusion line for the production of blown film at a major Texas-based converter. The 5-layer POD line is equipped with two 65 mm diameter extruders, two 80 mm extruders, one 120 mm extruder, PVD treated 550 mm die head, and triple flow air cooling ring, reaching an output of over 800 kg/h.

The customer mainly runs high-quality PE composite films on this line, which is also equipped with a fully automatic double station winder BoPlus Evo in face-to-face configuration and an automatic shaft/roll handling system.

The system is designed with features minimizing waste and maximizing energy efficiency, this significantly reducing changeover times and improving the consistency of the final product.
