On the occasion of the conference “Meeting on rubber and automotive: the conveyance of fluids”, organized by AFICEP (Association Francaise des Ingenieurs et Cadres du Cautchouc et des Polymeres) and to be held at the CEERTA (Centre Européen d’Essais, de Recherches et de Techniques Automobile) circuit of Issore (Francia) on March 25-26, Colmec will present the lecture “New technologies for the production of pipes destined for the conveyance of fluids in cars”. The presentation will offer a survey on the different methods for the extrusion of pipes for braking, steering, air conditioning and fuel conveyance systems, focusing on the new generation of pipes for turbo engines. These latter, developed to resist to oils and high operation temperatures, consists in multilayer coextruded silicone pipes with insertion of a fluorosilicone or fluoroelastomer film in the substrate and reinforced with aramid fibre fabric.
