Thanks to their innovation potentials, polymers contribute significantly to the development of photovoltaic panels, in particular as a means of protecting components and increasing performance and lifetime.
Hence, the French Institute for Solar Energy (INES) and the chemical producer Arkema have joined forces to create the first private/public mixed research laboratory in France dedicated to the development of polymer materials for the various photovoltaic module technologies.
This new joint laboratory will pool the company's knowledge of polymers, polymer films and nanomaterials with the expertise of the institute's team in design and development processes for innovative photovoltaic modules, silicon and thin layers. This cooperative venture will be in place for an initial 4-year period.
