At the beginning of 2015, Ensinger and Simona entered into a commercial partnership covering the Italian market for semifinished products. The two companies already had close business collaboration in Italy over a period spanning more than ten years.

Simona Italia, operating from its head office in Vimodrone (Milan), will devote itself primarily to specialty products and applications. The company's aim is to strengthen its market position in the key areas of its traditional markets, such as the chemical process industry and advertising sector, besides approaching  new market segments.

In establishing a new warehouse and recruiting additional staff, Ensinger Italia has made targeted investments in its own infrastructure. The company is committed to further consolidating its position as a key player in the distribution of semi-finished plastics.

The partnership forms an integral element of the strategic reengineering plans implemented by Simona. "Based on a detailed analysis of customer requirements within our European markets, we identified the need to reposition our Italian subsidiary. The findings of this market assessment highlighted the necessity to optimize our supply chain and extend the service portfolio offered to our customers. The Italian market is of utmost importance for  us and requires a dynamic local unit focused on high-level technical consulting and  service. Nevertheless, logistical activities are no longer considered to be among the subsidiary's core competencies. Consequently, the commercial partnership with Ensinger has to be seen as the logical decision that will provide tangible advantages for all those involved, also in view of the long-standing business relations already existing between the two companies," said Giovanni Vesco, managing director of Simona Italia and sales area manager Western Europe at Simona.

The partnership will provide Ensinger Italia with a suitable platform able to expand and complete its product range, thus meeting the requirements of a broad spectrum of industrial segments - from food production to aerospace technology. "We will be in a position to meet virtually any customer requirement. Our product portfolio, for example, covers a temperature range from -250°C to +350°C," said Paolo Senatore, head of semifinished products at Ensinger Italia. "Thanks to our areas of specialization as well as our experience in applications engineering and logistics, we are also able to offer tailored services and support. Noticeably, customers will always be able to rely on the quality of Simona-branded products, which keep on going a   patent   added value within the market," said Senatore in commenting on the partnership.

The partnership will allow both companies to position themselves even more competitively within the marketplace and leverage synergies in the area of sales and distribution, thanks to speed, efficient, tailor-made solutions and greater supply reliability.
