Roberto Gorlero has recently been appointed to head up the business operations of Kistler in the Middle East. Of Ligurian origin but now based in Milan, the 50 year old manager joined the Kistler group in 2004. Firstly in the capacity of the general manager for Italy, and then as the managing director as from 2006. While in 2012 he also assumed the role of the South European operations manager: an area which now has no less than 7 offices in: Milan, Barcelona, Istanbul, Belgrade, Athens, Lisbon and Baku.
The Middle East, especially with the recent opening up of Iran towards the international community, today is an excellent opportunity for the Swiss company, which aims to incorporate a huge region under a single management. This area being Kistler's most vast area of competence, and has been recording the most consistent annual growth rate in terms of sales and turnover for the past few years now.
In Iran, the company aims to expand its market in the automotive industry, which currently turns out over 1.5 million vehicles a year, with increasingly high production and safety standards, which could boost research and development of high-tech solutions. While in Teheran, Kistler can already rely on a highly experienced team of staff, with a good standing on the local market.
In the Arabian peninsula, the company is at the moment mainly focused on the field of infrastructure and related technological applications, but it aims to expand its network of locally active partners and distributors.
As in his previous roles, Gorlero will be reporting to the Kistler executive committee in Switzerland.
