In 2015, Piovan opened two sales and service branches in Africa. One is in operation in Algiers (Algeria), and the other in Johannesburg (South Africa). The purpose of the investment is to establish a presence on a continent where, despite the recent geopolitical crises that have affected it, the company shows strong potential for development.
On this basis, marketing manager Giorgio Santella told us in an interview at the German fair Fakuma 2015 that Piovan expects to double its presence in Africa over the next few months. In fact, another two sales offices are scheduled to open at the beginning of 2016, one to serve the east, the coastal Indian Ocean region, and the other the west, along the Atlantic coast.
The approach to these markets is structured and based on a close-knit structure from the get go, "in pure Piovan style", Santella concludes.
