A recent two-day open house was devoted to the extrusion of blown film made from biodegradable and compostable material. The event took place at the Olgiate Olona facilities of MAM (CMG group), in the province of Varese, on November 12 and 13. For the occasion, a plant for single-layer film equipped, among other things, with a new-generation head and a new version of the LSW winder, was shown in action, processing a biopolymer from the M.Vera range developed by Bio-Fed.
Bio-Fed is a division of the German company Akro-Plastic, and the M.Vera range, available in grades for extrusion and for injection moulding, is “Vinçotte OK Compost” certified, which means that its compostability is guaranteed. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for a series of applications including the production of recycling bags for collecting organic waste, as well as agricultural films, shoppers, and so on.
