An Italian tyre retreading specialist with worldwide operations, Marangoni has joined forces with GRP, a global Indian reclaimed rubber producer, to establish a joint venture in India for the retreading of tyres for commercial vehicles.

The joint venture combines the two partners' strengths - Marangoni's retreading experience and GRP's experience in reclaiming rubber, as well as its knowledge of the Indian market, to launch in India an avant garde solution for retreading tyres for commercial vehicles. The solution will extend the life of tyres and reduce costs for road transportation operators.

The exclusive technology launched in India for the first time consists of Marangoni's Ringtread system, a joint-free tread design, offering higher mileage and best possible grip, at a more affordable price while ensuring greater savings for the Indian fleet. The joint venture will also deliver environmental benefits to the country in general, and to the transportation sector in particular, as the high quality reclaimed tyres are eco-friendly thanks to a longer life of use and consequent lesser use of resources.

"The evolution of the Indian market offers Marangoni a great opportunity to expand its global presence. For some years, we have been studying this market and we believe the time has come to propose our retreading system in the country. The expanding road network and broad acceptance of radials by a fleet that is becoming increasingly professional assures us that, together with GRP, we can establish a solid presence in India”, Massimo De Alessandri, CEO of the Marangoni group said.
