The experience acquired over more than four decades has seen Mast evolve from a small machine shop into a company specialising in the construction of screws and chambers for machines and systems used in the processing of plastic materials. Its current catalogue contains a vast range of solutions for the construction of single-screw and co-rotating twin-screw extruders, counter-rotating and taper-screw extruders, all made from different types of steel and featuring different coatings according to the application requirements, and the screws can be as long as 7 metres.
For single-screw extrusion lines the company produces screws with different profiles and mixing systems, ranging from traditional crosswise flights to “Maddock” type mixers, available with different coatings such as Stellite, Colmonoy etc.
For co-rotating twin-screw extruders the company produces section screws featuring a wide variety of assembly systems, such as keys, broached joints and hex joints, using nitrided or through-hardened steel. Furthermore, absolute respect for the profile ensures maximum self-cleaning capacity of the screws. The chambers can be the modular section type with internal circulation of cooling liquid or with interchangeable bimetallic bushings.
Mast specialises, in particular, in the construction of taper screws for counter-rotating twin-screw systems. The screws have different profiles, including variable pitch flights, also available with different types of coatings. The company’s products also include parallel and taper two-hole rolls complete with flanging and cooling pipes.
