The Italian manufacturer of magnetic clamping systems for moulds Rivi Magnetics and the German group Römheld recently joined forces to establish the joint venture company Römheld Rivi. According to the Italian company, Rivi Magnetics believes that this collaboration will improve its aftersales and service activities, two areas that will be crucial in its partnerships relating to the design and supply of magnetic clamping solutions in the coming years.
Indeed, the Italian manufacturer is expecting the operation not only to increase outlets to overseas markets for its products, but also to boost its reputation and reliability as a supplier to the Italian market. The company’s CEO, Davide Rivi, and sales director for Italy, Roberta Rivi, intend to recruit the most established overseas service providers in order to dramatically improve the after-sales and customer assistance services provided to customers.
The company holds international patents that bear witness to its excellence in the field of magnetic clamping systems for processing at temperatures greater than 160°C, and it is on the strength of this expertise that, back in 2002, the company entered into a commercial agreement with Hilma, which is also part of the Röhmeld Group. Now, having worked together for around 15 years, the Röhmeld Group and Rivi Magnetics have pooled their expertise and resources, founding, on an equal footing - each has a 50% stake - the company Röhmeld Rivi, which is headquartered in Germany.
For the Italian manufacturer, this move constitutes definite attempt to internationalize its business and will allow its magnetic platens, produced in Italy, to compete on the global markets where the German group already has a widespread sales network. It is certainly operation that will further the process of transforming Rivi Magnetics from a small enterprise into an increasingly structured and organized industrial concern with Industry 4.0 credentials.
