A company established back in 1994, Plastic Systems employs today 400 people. It specialises in products for automation in the various stages of plastic processing; what is more, its services also range from raw material processing to integration of its solutions into the production departments of customers that use both injection moulding machines and extrusion systems.
Blauwer was instead founded in 2015. “Now integrated operationally into our Borgoricco production site, Blauwer supplies refrigeration systems, heat pumps for industrial applications and temperature control units, all mainly for large systems” says Gianfranco Cattapan, CEO of Plastic Systems.
Having increased its competitive advantage by extending its already well-established range through the launch of Blauwer, the company is currently in the process of finalising the group’s first takeover operation, namely its acquisition of the company Ergomec which, being headquartered in San Bonifacio (near Verona), is conveniently close to Borgoricco.
“Ergomec mainly produces plants for the storage, pneumatic conveyance and blending of plastic granulate and powders (compounds, PVC, mineral fillers, rubber, etc.). As well as being active in the plastics industry, the company also has considerable experience of chemical products and the food industry, in the sense of plants for processing sugar, flour, cocoa, starches and cereals. Furthermore, in all these settings Ergomec has, for over 15 years, been equipped with high-profile engineering capabilities and is thus able to create turnkey plants offering high levels of customisation. Not bad as the latest move to extend our range!”, remarks Cattapan, going on to add that the forthcoming Fakuma fair (16 to 20 October) in Friedrischshafen, where Plastic Systems will be present together with Blauwer and Ergomec, will provide the first opportunity to officially announce the takeover before an international audience.
