Refrigerator andfree-cooler combined
The latest range of machines developed by Green Box allows two functions (refrigerator and free-cooler) to be carried out by a single solution. Its main advantage is its ease of installation, which is comparable to that of a traditional refrigerator: indeed, there is only one water circuit inlet, only one water circuit outlet, and also only one electrical connection.
The typical characteristic of this range of machines is the fact that the various models are always equipped with two rows of fans, one acting as a free-cooler and the other as a refrigerator, thereby ensuring that the system is highly reliable and allowing easy cleaning of the batteries. The range is divided into basic models and very-high-efficiency models. The first, MR-H/FC, number eight in all, have a cooling capacity ranging from 76 to 302 kW, and stand out for their excellent cost/performance ratio. The switch from free-cooler function to refrigerator function (and vice versa), effected through a motorised three-way valve controlled by a differential thermostat, is completely automatic. The very-high-efficiency models on the other hand number three in total: the MR-H 102/1-FC-Inverter, the MR-H 152/1-FC-Inverter and the MR-H 252/1-FC-Inverter, which respectively have powers of 88, 122 and 200 kW. These latter models are based on the most advanced solutions currently available on the market, so as to guarantee optimal efficiency in any thermal load condition. Their specific feature is the presence of two compressors, one a traditional on/off scroll compressor and the other a special inverter-controlled scroll compressor.
The combined use of these two compressors allows the cooling capacity to be continuously adjusted, between 15% and 100% of the rated output, and at the same time makes it possible to guarantee high temperature precision. As a further guarantee of high efficiency, each model, in addition to having one inverter-controlled compressor, is equipped with an electronic thermostatic valve and fans with brushless motors both on the free-cooler side and on the refrigerator side. In terms of energy savings, it can be considered that: the electronic thermostatic valve allows, on average, a performance improvement of 2-3%; the fans with brushless motors guarantee, especially during the cold months, energy savings that can easily reach 90% of the installed power; the combined use of these two compressors allows energy savings of 5% on average. The combined application of all these components adds up to minimal energy consumption combined with extremely precise temperature control.
