Compounding Lines

Increasingly advanced applications, which call for the use of sophisticated compounds with specific characteristics for achieving high performance, have led the manufacturers of compounding lines to focus on hi-tech solutions capable of delivering true innovation. This trend moreover occurs within a market that demands high production speeds at affordable costs, and in which at least two further considerations apply. The first is the importance attributed by suppliers of extrusion lines to collaboration with upstream and downstream players, that is to say the producers of raw materials and the users of machines and compounds on the other. The second concerns the increasingly close links between industry and R&D, even when not explicitly formalised.These are the topics addressed in the article that follows, with the customary contribution of some Italian manufacturers specialising in the construction of machinery and equipment used in the compounding process.
