Three Amut plants for recycling in Latin America

Amut recently installed the first of three post-consumer PET bottle recycling lines at a food and beverage company's plant in Lima, Peru. The line has a capacity of 6,000 kg per hour and is designed to recover rPET for the production of new bottles. The second and third lines, both 3,000 kg per hour, will be built at the company's plants in Guatemala City, Guatemala, and Bogotá, Colombia.

The Lima plant is the largest recycling plant in Peru and is based on Amut's patented high-performance machinery to ensure high production capacity and flake quality suitable for the bottle-to-bottle process with subsequent re-grading of the final product. The plant also features an efficient and sustainable process in terms of water, energy and chemical consumption, using 1.1 litres of fresh water per kg of high purity rPET flakes produced.
