Technyl One demonstrated value in electrical and e-mobility high voltage components

TECHNYL ONE is a line of halogen-free high temperature polyamides specifically formulated for electrical protection devices. In particular, it addresses pure electrical and electronic applications, such as power management equipment, consumer electronics, mini and smart circuit breakers and contactors, as well as e-mobility connector systems. It empowers manufacturers to push the limits of miniaturization in the industry, allowing them to create smaller and more complex parts, optimizing design without compromising on safety. 

This flame-retardant halogen-free solution is available in a full range of grades (from 15% to 50% glass fiber reinforcement) and colors, including ORANGE, to meet demanding customer requirements. It also demonstrates best-in-class performance with peak mechanical and electrical properties, superior flowability, high melt temperature of 285°C and low corrosivity.

In contrast to high temperature matrices, TECHNYL ONE features a wide processing window, accurate filling, and good surface aspect, even at 50% glass reinforcement.

TECHNYL ONE is significantly less corrosive than traditional high temperature HFFR nylon materials, further helping to increase production equipment lifetimes and minimizing production costs.

With an industry-leading certification portfolio, TECHNYL ONE meets the strictest regulations facing the electrical equipment market, notably UL, IEC and fire and fume certifications.

TECHNYL ONE provides best-in-class fire protection behavior, such as low smoke generation and zero flame propagation. TECHNYL ONE J60X1 V30 has for example a GWIT value of 800°C at 0.4 mm, which is a distinctive and unmatched property for an HFFR solution, perfectly meeting the needs of connectors applications. This special grade also demonstrates a unique UL 5VA at 0.8 mm, while standard PA 6 and PA 66 only match it at 1.6.mm. What is more, it is EN 45545 approved with an HL3 rating for R22/R23, confirming low smoke behavior for railways, a characteristic that makes it suitable for new mobility concepts, as well.

The application profile is complemented by a UL94 V0 rating at a wall thickness of only 0.4 mm and unmatched thermal ageing properties (150°C electrical RTI - relative thermal index). It also features outstanding electrical properties, including a very high comparative tracking index (CTI 0 up to 750 volts).
