Relaunch of stretch fibres
Aquafil, market leader in the production of nylon 6 BCF, and Carvico, world leader in the production of non-ravelling fabrics, have announced an equal-share joint venture dubbed XLAnce Fibre Italia.
According to the agreement, XLAnce Fibre Italia will bring manufacturing lines acquired from Dow Chemical to Italy, envisaging production start-up in the third quarter of 2012.
Aquafil's capabilities in the polyamide fibre segment, particularly with the innovative recycled fibre Econyl, united with those of Carvico in stretch fabrics, represent an ideal mix for an optimum market positioning and growth of XLAnce Fibre Italia, offering one of the extremely few truly new fibres usable by the clothing industry in recent years.
