Gefran brings a portfolio of technologies and services to Plast 2026

Gefran presents itself at Plast 2026 with an integrated portfolio of technologies and services resulting from fifty years of presence in the plastics market, which have translated into verticalised production, high technological expertise and solid application know-how gained in the field in extrusion, injection and blow moulding processes.

“In the plastics industry, performance, operational continuity and process quality depend on the connection between automation and the ability to turn process data into value”, said Alberto Piovesan, Head of Vertical Market Plastics at Gefran. “For Gefran, Plast 2026 represents the ideal opportunity to consolidate its role as a reference partner for the sector, thanks to a complete and integrated portfolio of know-how, products and services, designed to support customers throughout every stage of the value chain”.

At the heart of Gefran’s offering is G-Mation, the EtherCAT-based platform that simplifies automation architectures, reducing development times and integration costs. The core of the solution is the G-Mation P6 controller, designed to make automation modular and scalable through high performance and flexibility, with cycle times of up to 250 microseconds, native protocols (MQTT, OPC UA, Euromap), secure connections via integrated VPN agents and a Docker architecture for installing applications as apps. Completing the ecosystem, two latest-generation proprietary solutions take the digitalisation of industrial processes to a new level. MAX - Machine Analytics eXpert transforms machine data into immediately usable insights, improving energy efficiency, reducing machine downtime and enabling predictive maintenance. GAIA - Gefran AI Assistant, meanwhile, is the virtual assistant based on generative artificial intelligence, designed to support operators and maintenance technicians in day-to-day management, providing contextual answers on machine status, consumption, performance and technical documentation.

Gefran Soluzioni supports machine manufacturers and industrial operators throughout the entire plant life cycle, with an offering that goes well beyond design consultancy. Gefran designs and manufactures tailor-made electrical cabinets and guarantees installation, on-machine wiring and commissioning, through to signature of the final acceptance test. This integrated approach is completed by an advanced digital dimension: through integration with ERP and MES systems, remote support via advanced platforms and the MAX and GAIA IoT solutions, the company transforms machine data into operational and strategic information, enabling intelligent plant management throughout the entire life cycle.

At Gefran’s exhibition area there is a compact laboratory extruder for monolayer cast film, demonstrating how Gefran offers a complete and vertical solution for the application. The machine is governed by the G-Mation platform with the P6 PLC as the central unit and connected to the MAX and GAIA digital platforms: process data is collected, analysed and made accessible in real time, with the possibility of querying GAIA to obtain immediate operational insights. A tangible example of how, from sensor to cloud, Gefran supports machine manufacturers towards intelligent process management.
