Nozzle handling plate

A new handling plate system by Thermoplay for needle valve nozzles combines the benefits assured by mobile plate drives with those provided by conventional devices. The compact dimensions of this needle valve system and the related drive (mechanical or electric) makes it possible to reduce the center distance between the mould cavities, though retaining all the advantages of modern handling systems.
By means of a special decoupler device it is possible to separate the individual needles from the drive plate, while at the same time locking the pin in closed position, a necessary feature when the flow of plastic material has to be blocked in one or more cavities. The mobile plate incorporates a micrometric device to adjust the pin position. The opening/closing function of the individual cavity can be performed from the outside, without removing any components from the mould.
