On September 5 Dolci Extrusion announced an agreement with Gloucester Engineering whereby the two companies can freely supply the other's winders as part of their respective cast extrusion lines for the production of stretch film. By offering their customers an alternative choice of product, the two manufacturers hope to better exploit current application and market opportunities.
Moreover, a new plant for the production of 2400-mm wide PP cast film or, alternatively, 7-layer barrier film will be on display in operation from September 15, at the Dolci Extrusion headquarters in Biassono (Monza Brianza, Italy). The plant is designed for PP production of 1000 kg/h and is equipped with innovative devices, such as an in-line mono-orientation and stabilization system to prevent the "creasing" of the reels, and an original trimming system with off-line twin screw extruder and "refeed" without trim dust.
The heart of the machine is, however, the new turret winder with "independent arms" and with dual winding direction, which enables in-line cutting without having to replace the reels in the cutter. The plant will be sold to a leading European processor.
