Based on data issued by the Vietnamese office of statistics, the country's exports of plastic products in the first half of 2013 reached a value of 590 million euro. According to projections by the Vietnam Plastics Association, an acceleration in export sales is expected in coming months, reaching 1.7 billion euro by year-end, with an increase on the order of 11-13% over 2012. This comes after a 42% increase last year over 2011.
In the first half of 2012, Italian exports of plastics and rubber machinery to Vietnam reached just over a half-million euros, thus suggesting a possible decline with respect to the 5.8 million euro registered in all of 2012, after nearly 10 million in 2011.
