A worldwide provider of automation and control technology, WEG has opened new Italian headquarters to support its recent expansion in the country. Located in Cinisello Balsamo, near Milan, the new 640-sqm offices will enable the company to expand its current workforce and fully meet the needs of its growing customer base. With energy bills on the rise and new IE3 regulations coming into force this month, Italy’s industrial demand for energy efficient motor and drive solutions is increasing, with more and more business recognising energy efficiency as being a priority. As a result, WEG has recently experienced a steady growth in the Italian market, with its regional sales doubling over the past year particularly in sectors such as oil and gas and metals. The company supplies energy-efficient motor and drive technology to leading Italian producers of large plants and machinery including pump systems, fans and compressors, which are used in major international oil and gas and metals projects.
“WEG is expanding steadily in Italy and we are expecting this trend to continue throughout 2015 and beyond. With this in mind, we decided to open larger and more prestigious headquarters to fully support our expanding customer base. We are committed to strengthening our position in the Italian market by increasing our sales and recruiting new staff over the next five years to support both our existing and new customers”, Luciano Albertalli, the general manager of WEG Italy, commented. Located in a brand new energy efficient building, WEG’s new Italian headquarters offer additional space for corporate and client meetings as well as spacious offices to accommodate new employees. “We are in a position to provide some of the most efficient and reliable motors available on the market, thus we feel optimistic about our future in Italy. The oil and gas and metals sectors remain our key target, but we are also aiming to expand into other industries such as water treatment and plastics”, Albertalli added.
With motors in efficiency classes IE2 to IE5, soft starters, servo technology and frequency inverters, WEG now offers the broadest portfolio of drive solutions to help manufacturers raise the efficiency of their systems, improve their processes and lower their operating costs. The company has the widest range of efficient low voltage motors and is ideally placed to meet the needs of a wide range of MOEMs across a variety of industries.
For example, the WEG W22Xd Super Premium Efficiency range of flameproof hazardous area motors is the most energy efficient range available on the market. In addition, WEG has recently updated its portfolio of standard industrial motors with the W40, W50 and W60 series. Thanks to the optimised design, these compact three-phase induction motors deliver reliable high performance even under adverse conditions. WEG also introduced a new cost-effective range of inverter drives that gives exceptional performance for three-phase induction motor control. The CFW500 range features state-of-the-art technology to deliver a high level of control, but at an affordable price, enabling industrial manufacturers to improve processes and make significant cost savings.
