A complete line for the coextrusion of polypropylene hollow sheets has been supplied by Union to a South American processor.
The line is able to produce sheets with a useful width of 2500 mm and thicknesses ranging from 2 to 4 mm at an hourly rate of around 600 kg. The calibrating unit is equipped with three pairs of plates to ensure gradual cooling of the sheets, whose stability, together with the efficiency of the material, has been optimised to obtain, in this case, minimum thicknesses of between 250 and 750 g per square metre. The sheets obtained can be used in various applications, from construction and packaging to advertising billboards, where surface flatness is a crucial requirement.
