The ADV200-LC (Liquid Cooled) is the new series of liquid-cooled inverters designed and produced by Gefran for applications in which the most important requirements are: robustness, long life and high reliability. Liquid cooling of electrical and mechanical units drastically reduces the size of the electric drive section.
This is therefore the best motion control solution for plastic processing applications, and especially for extrusion lines and injection machines.
The ADV200 LC has an innovative cooling system that dissipates heat with water, water/glycol, or oil. Excellent corrosion protection is provided by aluminium cooling pipes and by internal separation of electronics and water cooling. The internal sensor accurately measures the humidity level to prevent internal condensation.
In addition to accompanying the air-cooled ADV200 line, the ADV200-LC integrates easily in existing systems. It controls both asynchronous and synchronous motors with or without encoder, and is available in a wide range of motor powers (from 30 kW to 1.2 MW) in only 5 mechanical sizes. It is extremely compact compared to air-cooled inverters and takes up much less space in the electrical panel. For sizes up to 55 kW, the braking resistance is mounted directly on the heatsink, further reducing the size of the electrical panel.
The ADV200-LC is installed simply and reliably by means of a revolutionary system that mounts the drive both inside the electrical panel and with external heatsink. It has many important features, including:
• control, operation and programming identical to the ADV200 air-cooled series (with use of all available options);
• built-in temp control function to control an external electrovalve for liquid-cooled drive and motor;
• built-in safe torque off, conforming to the Machine Safety Directive under standards SIL3 and PL “d”;
• standard EMC filter for the entire series and integrated input choke inductance up to 200 kW to reduce wiring costs and increase space in the electrical panel.
