In full conformity with the current safety provisions in the workplace against the coronavirus, Union recently concluded the final tests on an extrusion line for single-layer thermoforming sheets of 100% recycled PET obtained from post-consumer bottle flakes and destined for the production of egg trays.

The line consists of a 150/44D single-screw extruder with double high vacuum degassing, self-cleaning double-plate filter, 45-degree mechanical calender, silicone applicator with vertical dryer and winders. The extrusion line features an output of 1,000 kg/hour and is able to produce sheets up to 1,300 mm wide with thicknesses from 0.2 to 1.2 mm.
