The oenological field seems more and more oriented toward the use of caps and closures made of synthetic materials, as demonstrated by the case history of Enoplastic - Italian company based in Bodio Lomnago (Varese) and specialized in the production of polyethylene stoppers for still and sparkling wines and laminated film for capsules.
As for the latter, the company produces a laminated film starting from a dual aluminium sheet and a polyethylene sheetsone; the product is then converted into elegant capsules sold worldwide to bottlers.
As for the stoppers, they are sold on the Italian market - as reported by Giovanna Macchi, one of the company owners - to provide optimal control ofat the best the product, which in its simplicity requires very tight tolerances and consequently has to be followed along the entire life cycle from the manufacture to the final use at the wineries. The stoppers are produced by presses based on a company design and manufactured by affiliated factories.
