According to data from ANIPAC (Asociaciòn Nacional de Industrias del Plastico), earnings in the Mexican plastics industry grew to 20 billion dollars in 2011 (+10%) and the trend is expected to continue in 2012.
Regarding machinery imports to Mexico, Assocomaplast data for 2011 point to a small decrease in purchases from the United States (the main supplier of Mexican industry) with respect to the previous year, while imports from the number two supplier, Germany, rose by some 25%, and sales to Mexico from third-ranked Italy witnessed a full 33% increase.
