The new REM (Rubber Electric Machine) machines introduced by IMG, based in Capriano del Colle (Brescia, Italy), in the rubber industry section of PLAST 2012 stood out not so much for their flashy purple colour (an exclusive for the fair) but for their technological characteristics.
The new machines feature a clamping unit with 5-point dual toggle and sliding platen on recirculating spherical guides. The absence of bushings is particularly advantageous to prevent the risk of burrs and foreign bodies forming incrustations on the tiebars.
The 300-ton model displayed in operation at the fair is characterized by a clamping unit driven by a 60-kN axial gearless servomotor and was equipped with a mould for O-rings and a device for brushing the movable and fixed platen.
