Although not comparable to other major European fairs for the sector, Plastpol 2012 (Kielce, 29 May - 1 June) is nevertheless worthy of interest both for the 708 exhibitors representing 32 countries (680 in 2011 and 2010, and 665 in 2009) and for its 16,000 visitors, similar to the numbers officially recorded by the fair authority in 2011. The event filled six halls with its 14,000 square metres of exhibition space. As important as the Polish market is, representing the seventh ranked destination market for Italian exports in the sector, the opinion of certain local representatives and agents of Italian machinery constructors is that the Polish processing industry is not inclined toward investment. Poland also clearly feels the effects of the political and financial climate of change in Europe, which has robbed the coveted goal of becoming part of the euro zone, previously considered a vital springboard for relaunching the local economy, of its prior allure. The next edition of Plastpol is scheduled from May 8 to 11, 2013.
