After a week of tests, the latest addition to the PET sheet extrusion lines at Union achieved a hourly output of 1250 kg while consuming less than 0.30 kW/kg. These productivity and energy consumption results are the outcome of the Italian manufacturer's R&D efforts, which led to the development of the latest version of the TR160 single-screw extruder at the heart of the line. Designed to process PET flakes from 100% post-consumer bottles, the plant is destined to produce sheet with a width of 1200 mm and a thickness from 0.3 to 1.2 mm.
