In spite of the world economic crisis, the agricultural film market has allowed Bandera to maintain a positive trend in sales of its co-extrusion lines. Demand is focused primarily on three-layer co-extrusion lines, which currently satisfy a good portion of current agricultural applications in spite of the fact that five-layer film is expected to progressively rise to dominance. Bandera, based in Varese, Italy, is currently working to fill orders for two 5-layer co-extrusion lines, each of which will be delivered to an Italian converter in 2013.
One is a line with an LDPE production capacity of over 2,000 kg per hour based on 5 extruders: a TR 160 for the core layer, two TR 140s for the intermediate layers, and two TR 100s for the external layers, all driven by energy efficient AC motors and equipped with a lateral feeding head and die with 2,000-mm diameter. The oscillating take-off unit with 5,000-mm nominal width rollers features: 18-metre flattening slides with aluminium rollers and wooden rods which can be alternatively inserted via pneumatic control; motorized wooden-slat blowing triangles; C benders for films with open width ranging from 10 to 18 metres. The line is completed with a single station contact winder.
The second order regards a line with an hourly capacity in excess of 800 kg of LDPE, with 5 TR 75 extruders, these too equipped with energy efficient AC motors, side feeding extrusion head with an 800 mm diameter die, oscillating take-off unit with 3,800 mm rollers and 8-metre flattening slide and completed with a two-station contact winder.
Both lines are equipped with an air-cooling loop with multiple inserts and special geometries to ensure ideal air flows.
