The Air-Off technology, developed and patented by ML Engraving, makes it possible to engrave three-dimensional patterns directly in moulds of any size or geometry. One of its ideal applications is moulded rubber soles for shoes. The technology facilitates proper ejection of air from the mould, thus eliminating the risk of material burning during the moulding process and ensuring the perfect replication of the pattern on the finished piece. Another principal application for the technology is the moulding of footbeds and polyurethane soles and innersoles, preventing the formation of bubbles and gaps. Air evacuation is facilitated by a system of micro-channels that form a sort of network in the mould connected to the suction areas at the edges of the mould.
