On Wednesday February 13, 2013, the European Commission submitted to the Parliament a set of standards for a higher safety of products and a more effective market surveillance.
The machinery industry, represented at European level by five associations - Cece, Cecimo, Cema, FEM and Euromap (this latter joined by Assocomaplast) - released a press note which, though appreciating the action of the Commission, highlights the need to improve the text of the standards.
A meeting has been scheduled in Bruxelles on March 20, to explain the position of the five European associations to some managers of the Commission and about ten European Members of Parliament. Euromap's president, Luciano Anceschi, will attend the meeting to represent the plastics and rubber machinery industry.
