The world market for composites reached a value in the neighbourhood of 82 billion euro in 2012 with an average annual growth rate of 6%. These are just two of the estimates put forward by the organizer of the specialized exhibition-convention JEC.
By the end of 2017, production volume could approach 12 million tons, as opposed to 9.2 in 2012, quadrupling by the end of 2030. This growth will bring with it increasing diversification in the application of composites, as well as expanding options for recycling them.
