Three products will be competing for the 2013 Best Recycled Plastic Product title, including the innovative uBin manufactured by the British company Green Warehouse.
Not only is the uBin made with 100% recycled plastic, it's also the first bin in the world made from 100% UK post-consumer plastic!
Engineer Will Hayes has designed and manufactured the stylish uBin to encourage responsible recycling of rubbish in offices, schools, universities, hospitals and other typical working environments.
A key benefit of this product is that the material trail is so visible, with the plastic sourced a UK plastic reprocessor, who in turn sourced the material from waste management companies who collected it from UK householders.
The other two shortlisted entries are VinyPlus, a facade profile produced using a combination of recycling material and PVC foil which doesn't require maintenance ; and Eco-core, a recycled polyester fibre, which is made wholly from recycled plastic bottles.
The Best Recycled Product is an initiative by Epro, the European Association of Plastics Recycling and Recovery Organisations. consisting of seventeen members from fourteen different countries including Recoup from the UK.
The winner will be announced during the Identiplast conference in Paris on November 28, 2013, organized by PlasticsEurope.
