Sacmi presents the new TF 40 at the Fruit Logistica fair in Berlin, 5-7 February 2014. Coupling high performance with enhanced flexibility, this latest generation thermoforming machine (the Italian group added the machine to its range at the end of 2012 when it bought the SMI Packaging business unit) is used to make fruit and vegetable trays. It will be accompanied at the fair by a modular TF 70 and a TF 80.
The modular TF 70, presented as a prototype in 2013, is now proposed equipped with a TS 60 stacker. The distinctive characteristic of the machine is precisely its modularity. By combining the different basic modules (magazine, press and corner unit), the machine can be configured to produce standard trays (TF 50) or as a fully functional TF 70. In addition to producing up to 50 pieces per minute, other strong points of the machine include the option of working inline with the new stacker, which Sacmi has redesigned to handle the high production rate of the machine, producing two trays in parallel, with lengths of up to 800 mm, and stacking them with no height limit.
The TF 80, an automatic tray machine, is characterized by flexibility, productivity and compact size. Able to produce two different formats in parallel, the machine has a production capacity reaching 120 pieces per minute. Reduced maintenance, ease of operation, and fast format changeover are additional features of the new Sacmi machines for the fruit and vegetable sector.
