The closing date for applications in the second edition of the international competition Plastic Technologies Award - launched by Promaplast (organizer of Plast 2015) and PoliDesign (consortium of the Politecnico di Milano) - has been extended to November 27, 2014.

The competition is focused on the study of original and innovative application solutions in relation to rapid consumption/temporary/single-use disposable products, that exploit the potential of specific manufacturing and transformation technologies for plastics. It is open to Italian and foreigner designers and creative professionals, corporate employees and students, individuals or groups, and offer as a prize 8,000 euro (3,000 to the first prize and 1,000 to each of the 5 technology categories: injection molding, blow molding, rotational molding, thermoforming, biopolymers).

The winning projects will be judged and selected by a jury composed by: Mario Maggiani, Promaplast CEO; Claudio Celata, Cesap CEO; Francesco Trabucco, professor in industrial design at Design School of Politecnico di Milano and director of the course Design for Plastics (PoliDesign); Luciano Galimberti, president of the Association for the Industrial Design; Matteo Ingaramo, director of PoliDesign. The winners will be awarded on the occasion of the opening ceremony of Plast 2015, that will take place on May 5.
