From 14 to 18 December, the injection press manufacturer Saspol will be holding an open house at its facilities in Vigevano (near Pavia), an event that will unfold along two lines: technological and commercial. On the technological side, Saspol will be presenting its range of plastics and rubber processing machines, while on the commercial side the company will officially announce its recent business agreement with the Chinese manufacturer Yizumi Rubber Machinery.
Saspol’s most recent machines include its first compression moulding press for the processing of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), which, being a special polymer that is not fluid, is processed using techniques similar to those used for metals. The new machine, unveiled at Plast 2015, has a clamping force of 10,800 tons; this represents 120 kg per square centimetre of specific pressure on the platens, which measure 4,900 x 2,800 mm. The various strengths of the press include the software for the management of the heating, crosslinking and cooling stages, which was developed in-house by the Vigevano-based company.
The agreement with Yizumi has been operational since last July and it gives Saspol exclusive rights to sell Yizumi presses in Italy. The Chinese partner is one of its country’s leading manufacturers of presses for the injection moulding of rubber and silicone and it is currently able to offer a varied production range from three main manufacturing plants.
