On June 3, the European Plastics Converters (EuPC) association unanimously re-elected Michael Kundel as its president. Therefore, CEO of Renolit is renewing his two-year term as EuPC president until 2018.

The elections took place during EuPC’s general assembly, held during the EuPC annual meeting on June 2 and 3, in Lyon, France. The two-day conference, organized by Polymer Comply Europe, gathered over 120 senior management delegates from the entire plastics value chain: brand owners, converters, collectors and recyclers, machinery and equipment suppliers, waste management companies, raw material suppliers as well as representatives of the EU institutions, Member States and academia.

During the EuPC general assembly, Michael Kundel stated that now more than ever it is necessary for the plastics converting industry to work together to defend their interests in Europe. The digitalization (Industry 4.0) will allow companies to improve production processes, organize preventive maintenance on expensive equipment production and optimise capacity utilization across work sites. Important issues such as EU import duties reduction for polymers, a competitive market and the circular economy will continue to be addressed under the strategic guidance of EuPC who represents over 50,000 companies and 1.6 million employments.

Frédéric Midy, CEO EMEA at Aliaxis, was also re-elected EuPC treasurer, thus renewing his two-year term as well. Midy was also re-elected as chairman of the EuPC Building & Construction Division. David Baker, general manager of RPC Group, was newly elected chairman of the EuPC Packaging Division, as well as Claude Clément, president of Plastic Omnium, as chairman of the EuPC Automotive & Transport Division.
