A VH3500 injection moulding machine from Negri Bossi has been chosen by Plastitalia, a Sicilian converter specialised in the injection moulding of plastic fittings, to manufacture polyethylene fittings featuring a larger diameter compared to the parts produced so far.
“Technological innovation represents the main goal we want to pursue in time and the key pillar of our constant business improvement strategy. The purchase of the new injection moulding machine is one of the many achievements that will allow the company to offer, in future, an ever more comprehensive range of fittings on both the Italian and the international market. The introduction of new methods and systems demonstrates how our company keeps growing and renovating, an essential prerequisite for an ever more innovative future,” said Antonino Lenzo, chairman of Plastitalia. In fact, the converter has always focused on technological innovation, investing substantial financial resources in its R & D activity every year. Process and product innovation plays a crucial role for manufacturing fittings increasingly meeting the market’s needs. Plastitalia’s aim is to produce high-performance, long-lasting polyethylene fittings by using cutting-edge equipment and tools.
The machine installed belongs to the Bi-Power series of two-platen hybrid machines, available with clamping forces from 1000 to 7000. All models feature a highly modular design, with a low table ensuring an optimum accessibility. The injection unit is equipped with an electric reciprocating screw. The Bi-Power series includes the following standard features:
- clamping unit with wide spacing between the tie-bars and blocking pistons on the moving platen, for maximum reliability and shorter cycle times;
- robust double-cylinder injection unit;
- electric screw, for saving energy, operating
overlapping movements and
obtaining shorter cycle times;
- long-stroke ejector;
- sturdy, reliable, advanced design;
- completely digital CanBus control;
- powerful, user-friendly Columbia control;
- Amico remote assistance system.
