With a recent ceremony, Arburg officially inaugurated a new technology centre in Marinha Grande (Portugal). The premises offer sufficient space for machines, spare parts and training. One hundred guests were able to see the new possibilities for themselves during the open house event.

In his opening address, Arburg Managing Director Sales Gerhard Böhm thanked the customers on behalf of the entire parent company for the successful cooperation: "Without you, we would not be who we are today - one of the market leaders in Spain and Portugal". He also expressed his thanks to Martin Cayre, Managing Director of Arburg, and his team for the successful development of the company in Portugal.

Arburg's activities began as far back as 1960 with the delivery of the first machines to Portugal. The customers were initially served by a company under the name of Sociedade Comercial Romar. In 1997, the Spanish subsidiary Arburg became responsible for customer support in Portugal. With the new centre in Portugal, Arburg is now able to offer Portuguese customers even more support and an even better range of services.

The 340 sqm showroom with space for up to four Allrounder injection moulding machines and a freeformer for additive production is at the heart of the premises. Here, customers can not only experience live demonstrations of machine technology, the showroom also offers new opportunities for practical training in Arburg technology. The Portuguese team is made up of a salesperson and three experienced Arburg service technicians for fast and competent on-site assistance.
