The new proposal from Leister in the field of thermoplastic membranes is Twinny T5/T7, a welding machine purposely designed for increasing the productivity, sturdiness and reliability of the Twinny family. The welder’s motors and blowers are more powerful, and the transmission chains have been reinforced with the aim of improving performance and  minimising maintenance.

The welding speed can reach 8 metres/min, where the only real limits lie in the operator’s ability to prepare the membranes appropriately and control the welding process. The top-of-the-range T7 version incorporates a brushless motor which eliminates the need for brush replacement operations. Another feature of this welder are its user-friendly features which make it possible to carry out impeccable and repeatable welds right from the start, thus eliminating trials and errors. The display is easy to read and understand; in practice, Twinny is ready for use immediately after connecting it to the mains.

Twinny is a twofold versatile machine – in terms of the surfaces to treat and the membranes to use. The wheels with a larger diameter increase the distance from the ground, an essential feature in case of use on rough terrain. The choice of membranes is also wide as regards materials and thickness (HDPE and PP in thicknesses from 0.3 to 2.5 mm; PVC-P, LDPE, TPO and FPO from 0.3 to 3 mm). The hot air flow ensures dry and clean welds: dust and sand are removed by means of a powerful air jet while moisture evaporates thanks to high temperature, as a result ensuring consistent quality welds.

The T7 version is equipped with the Leister Quality System including WiFi and GPS functions. The welding parameters can be stored into and unloaded from a computer, or shared via the cloud. Operations like checking the welding parameters, detecting malfunctions and generating documents for clients are carried out easily. The welder also incorporates Industry 4.0 features: thanks to the myLeister app, the correct welding parameters can be recalled easily, thus ensuring the repeatability of each welding process.
