The working group for OPC UA for extrusion has developed a new part for calenders. It is published as Release Candidate OPC 40084-12. In this context, also part 1 (General Type Definitions) is published as new Release Candidate, because here types for the description of rolls and gaps are added, which can be used in different components of extrusion lines.

The OPC UA Plastics and Rubber Machinery Working Group was established by Euromap and OPC Foundation in 2019 with the aim of developing globally standardized interfaces for OPC UA (Unified Architecture) based plastics and rubber machinery.
