Grinding chamber: goodbye to welding and screws
The new AD-12 WET granulator mill showcased by Adler at the K 2016 features a grinding chamber that has been specifically conceived for the treatment of post-consumer PET bottles. For this specific purpose, it has been designed without any welds, that are replaced by pins and bolts capable of assuring the necessary resistance to the strain to which it is continually subjected.
Inside the rotor itself the 20 blades are fixed with conical pegs rather than screws, as the screws tend to wear and lose strength in only a short time, due to the continuous impact and strain to which they are subjected. Another advantage of using conical pegs is that the blades can be sharpened several times, making for considerable savings in terms of regular machine maintenance.
While the fixed blades can be reached from the exterior for easy adjustment and replacement, if necessary.
