ZERO: the advantages of the most compact IMA ALPHAMAC machine

ZERO is the single station extrusion blow moulding machine model designed by IMA ALPHAMAC, with the singularity of an in-line layout and which offers a series of significant advantages for its users, from compactness to the ground, to low consumption and to almost total absence of maintenance.

The machine is available in 3 different models:
ZERO 600S | Shuttle stroke: 600 mm | Clamping force: 18 tons
ZERO 700S | Shuttle stroke: 700 mm | Clamping force: 24 tons
ZERO 800S | Shuttle stroke: 800 mm | Clamping force: 25 tons

“The idea of this machine was to have a single station monobloc unit, easy to transport and start up with a “Plug and Play” concept, ideal for small to medium sized converters and end users with flexible production and batches of limited productions, guaranteeing a quick format changeover and reduced spaces.”

ZERO is the only machine on the market today with this type of design, which recalls past generations of hydraulic models, never adapted or redesigned for fully electric technology.

COMPACTNESS
Alpha ZERO 600S has a footprint of just 2.0 m x 5.7 m, allowing space to be optimized in production plants and the number of machines available for production to be increased.

ACCESSIBILITY AND SAFETY
The most appreciated feature of this series is its accessibility and safety for format changes. The side doors in fact allow the operator to access any part of the machine extremely easily and to work in a safe environment with a large space also for maintenance. The laterally mobile product exit station creates a large space in the front part of the machine to extract the moulds thanks to the built-in crane and to obtain a very rapid format change. The inclined shuttle includes a safety system that locks it completely in place when an operator opens the doors and enters the machine.

MAINTENANCE
Considering the absence of a Pick & Place system for the bottles and the bobbing of the extrusion platform, the only motorized movements are those for the shuttle transfer, the closing of the mould and the vertical motion of the blow pins, thus guaranteeing a reduced maintenance on the machine. In fact, being completely electric and with centralized lubrication managed directly through the HMI, it becomes almost a maintenance-free machine.

ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION
Like all the models proposed in the IMA ALPHAMAC range, ZERO guarantees extremely low electricity consumption, less than 0.30 kW/kg/h, even in its co-extrusion configuration.
